2007 Nobilo Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc

Lemon and melon on the palate. The label suggests passionfruit also. Attractive, refreshing, crisp. Nice acid/fruit balance. A reasonable alternative to the Kim Crawford which cost $6.00 more at the same store. Paired nicely with baked chicken and asparagus in chicken broth/sherry sauce one night and another night with lemon chicken scallopini breaded with crushed low-fat potato chips.

I like the Nobilo Icon version that they produce -- a bit more interest than the regular bottling (which certainly isn't shabby).

I agree with you Bucko but the grocery didn't have the Icon S.B. at this time. They did have the Icon Pinot Gris so I purchased a bottle of that to try in the coming week. Normally I'm not drawn to Pinot Gris/Pinot Grigio as a variety but having enjoyed the Carr Pinot Gris from Santa Rita Hills, Santa Barbara County, I'm now more open to trying others.

Love PG myself. It goes well with light cheeses, grilled white fish, etc., and it is a nice summer sipper.

Have you tried PG from Oregon such as WillaKenzie, Ponzi and Montinore to name a few?

I've had the Ponzi at a wine dinner in Raleigh with Dick and Nancy Ponzi present, but was alone at my table in prefering the Pinot Blanc. (I also prefered their regular Pinot Noir to the Pinot Noir Reserve which was too oaky for my tastes.)
