McLaren Vale
Forward, very fragrant aromas of red fruit(raspberry, plum and sour cherry) along with allspice and subtle vanilla. Palate mirrors nose with intense raspberry dominating. Round and juicy on the mid palate with medium tannins and a very long finish. Nice cold weather wine, IMHO, (didn't know what to expect). 14.5% Alc/vol. $16

BTW, this bottle was sampled over three days and showed better each day! On day three the wine displayed deep chocolate notes and still maintained its original body and weight.

is it a spanish or an australian wine ?since Grenache is grown mostly in these two countries and what food does it go best with?

I think that is supposed to be "McLaren Vale" which is in Australia. Also, Grenache is grown in France in the Rhone region.

Popped another yesterday to have with a Costco's rotisserie roasted chicken, red beans and rice and sliced tomatoes. Great pairing! The juicy grenache complimented all the food making this a great bbq wine also. Only have a few left.
