Dinner was pork chops pan fried in EVOO and butter w/ basil, oregano, tomatoes, garlic and white wine - along with garlic mashed. Opened up the first of the stash Roberto put together for us. This is a really nice 2001 Sangiovese from Romagna. I've been fighting a head cold, but the fruit came through nicely. Even Judy (not a big Italian fan) went for this one. Pick this one up from Roberto.

Popped our first of two on hand tonight with mesquite grilled porterhouse steak, corn on the cob for me, and salad. Wonderful!!! Almost like a cab with red fruit and acid. Could drink it with the whole meal. Even at 13.5% alcohol, it seemed much bigger.

The second bottle went with the second meal of Bistecco Alla Pizzaiola last night. It was far superior to the Dolcetto which matched with it last. The acid in the wine supported the acid in the tomatoes. This is a very lovely wine.
