2005 Arnaldo-Caprai Poggio Belvedere (Umbria)

Decanted an hour before dinner of lasagna with fresh green salad. VERY muted on the nose and tongue-tip, leading to a quick judgement of a weak sister not worthy of dinner. Addition of food brought a joyful burst of flavors, totally unexpected, absolutely delightful! Ripe red berries, exotic spices, lip-smacking finish... gotta find more! 13% alc/vol and about $17 at a high-end shop, probably $3-$4 less at normal retail.
