1998 Edmeades, Pinot Noir, Anderson Valley, $16, 2,822 cases. The nose displays earthy, blackberry notes with just a hint of spice. Plum and blueberry flavors are closely followed by savory cedar, wrapping up with a long, complex finish. Very good value.

I think Roberto hit the mark on this one.

1991 Pagor Pinot Noir, Santa Barbara. Very complex wine, I get more out of it each time I take a sip. Only tasting it now, not matched with a meal - which is a rotten shame because this stuff just cries out to me: "Serve me with FOOD, Dummy!!"

At $15.99 a bottle this stuff is a steal!! WOW!

Tonight I had the second half of the bottle of Pagor and it just got better and better and better. To me, this one is a WOW!

Went very nicely with my wife's meatloaf. She uses the three traditional ground meats, beef, port & veal. Then she adds lots of fresh garlic and onions. Makes for a wonderful meatloaf.

I put a small amount of Peter Luger's Steaksauce on my portion and then ate it with the Pagor Pinot. YUM, YUM, YUM.......

Produced and bottled by Rolling Hills Vineyards, Camarillo, CA. Winemaker is Ed Pagor, hence the name!?!

Had the '91 Pagor last night and my reaction after smelling it was Wow! Is this wine? It has a honeyed nose which was almost a dead ringer for Scotch, only with less alcohol. On the palate it had characteristic pinot flavors but with some interesting notes that I'm not sure I can identify. Honey/vanilla was one, maybe.

Really good, great with food, and certainly an interesting twist on Pinot.
