Hi LOEnologist, and welcome to the Wine Board. If you go to www.wine-searcher.com and enter Echezeaux Grand Cru on the search line and 1999 on the vintage line, you will find several sources in the USA for various bottlings of this wine. The prices range from $80 to $120 per bottle. Don't have any personal TNs on this wine, and probably never will. Incidentally it is a Burgundy wine, not a Bordeaux.

I have already tasted a number of 1999 red burgundies and I'm going to another tasting tomorrow. It's unlikely that we will be sampling the Echezeaux but if we do I will let you know. 1999 in general appears to be a vintage high in both quantity and quality (unusual). The two red burgundy grand crus I have tasted (Bonnes Mares and Gevrey-Chambertin Clos de Beze)were both very impressive.

I'm back from the red burgundy tasting. In a sense we did taste 1999 Echezeaux but it wasn't labeled as such. One of the wines was a '99 Bizot Vosne "Premier Cru." The presenter said that it was a blend of grapes from several lots in Echezeaux but the producer felt it didn't quite live up to the standards of a grand cru so didn't label it as Echezeaux which could have commanded a higher price. This Vosne "Premier Cru" selling at this wine shop in NC for $59.99 a bottle was a pleasant wine. I didn't feel it had the attractiveness or complexity of other burgundy grand crus I have tasted. Bizot is to be commended for not labeling it as a grand cru wine. I can't fill you in on other producers with lots in Echezeaux area because this is the only 1999 from there I have tasted.
