This is what chardonnay must be all about. Deep, intense yellow gold color. The most increible white wine I've ever tasted, bar none. Pineapple and honey on the nose, with just the slightest hint of butter and toasted oak. Ultrasilky, viscous mouthfeel, with a touch of acidity, and a finish that lingers for at least 30 seconds--not the wet cardboard aftertaste of many oaky whites, but rich toast, apple, and pear notes. Impeccable balance. 96/87.

A friend of mine at work just opened up a wine shop and I picked this up from him (at around $44) (Foodie, not to worry, I'm visiting your shop tomorrow!). Never had this wine before. Don't know anything about the producer. FWIW, WS ranks this an 87, which I think is way off base.
