stopped by to give CB her B/D present so I opened a 2001 Geyser Peak Reserve Alexandre and a 01 Reserve Cabernet. The Alex is their Meritage comnsisting of 43% merlot, 34% cab, 18% malbec, 3% petite verdot, and 1% cab franc(why do they bother?). Nice blend but without a whale of a lot going for it. Maybe going thru a dumb stage but at this point just a nice bottle of wine that's nowhere near worth the 44 a clatter price tag. Same goes for the 01 Reserve Cazbernet. Not rating until the next opening. WW

After the success of the Cab Reserve decided to give the Meritage model another dance. Nothing has changed. This critter has 2 left feet. Nothing stumbling bad, just clumsy and no boogie in the step. IMHO cherry kool-aid has about the same body. 82/80 44 by the box.13.5% alc. WW

It was probably that 1% Cab Franc that brought it down....

FINALLY!!!!!!!!! This sucker has emerged from its' dumb stage and is now showing its' true colors. Floral, fruity nose that hits the palate running and leaves a solid 4 lapper finish. Take back alla' them verbal slings 'n arrows I hurled. Good Stuff! WW
