and his dist yesterday. BRW, and 2 other close friends joined us whiole CorkDork and another buddy were no-shows. The wines poured were the 03 Chardonnay which was impressive for a SW, 03 Pinot Noir, 02 Old and Mature Zin, and the 01 Cabernet. So as not to appear I'm pimping for him I will go on record as saying they are all well-made, beautifully balanced, and concise wines showing their varietal heritage and having great drinkability. Very impressive. The pinot and cab had heft and power plus the structure to go another 6-10 and the zin looks like it'll improve for another 5-8. We all ordered boxes on the spot. WW

Hope this isn't an obvious question, but...... Which winery are these wines from? Dehlinger? Scherrer? Or is there something new out there Fred's working on?

Hattie and I are going out to Napa/Sonoma at the end of this month. Do either of these wineries require reservations?

Brappy,
If you don't get an answer today it's probably because WW is in Mexico. You may need to repost the questions in a few days. I think the Old and Mature Zin is from Scherrer. Don't know if the others are also.

All of the wines are from Freds' winery. He split with Dehlinger over 8-10 ago. He's sourcing his Pinot fruit but the Cab and Zins come from his fathers vineyard in Sonoma. The zin vines are some of the oldest in Sonoma. Call Fred and he will give you one whale of a tasting. Tom Dehlinger doesn't do tastings except at his once-a-year open house. Freds' #s 707 824-1933. Fred really puts it all out there when you visit. He opened about 12 bottles for the three of us when we were there last July.
