My neighbor recently discovered a forgotten case of 1976 Heitz Fay Vineyard Cab. Can this vintage wine stand up to 24 years of aging? What can we expect? It has been well cellared. Thanks.

76 was the first of the drought years and the wines generally were hard on release, aged unevenly and some didn`t go the distance. I looked back on my tasting notes and found I drank my last bottle in 91. It was an extremely fine bottle as the Fay grapes are prone to be. I think if these bottles have good storage, You could have some fine drinking ahead. WW
