My drinkin' daughter and son-in-law came by to welcome child bride home sos we'uns managed to open a few bottlings. All from thew 94 vintage and a brief rundown. Cakebread. A fine example of the vintage. Deep ruby, aromatics of cigar-box, brite fruit and cassis. Weighty mouthfeel with deep 4-1/2 lapper finish. still needs 3-5 to resolve the lurking tannins.92/92 30 by the box. Livingston Moffett Vineyard. From the western hills of the Rutherford district, this is one kick-fanny wine. Blended with 5% cab franc this sophisticted number plays to a standing-room-only tongue. Loads of red and black fruits with a cinnamon-cassis-cherry-fruit cocktail nuance that goes on and on in the tremendous finish. Needs another 2-4 to develop into a classic.94/92. 34 by the box. Caymus Napa. This big feller is shedding its bark and is showing loads of fruit under the tannic cover. Needs another 4-6 to reach its' potential. 90/93. 20 by the box. Had an ice-wine to finish the evening. WW
