Continuing with Reds for dinner were

1990 Domaine Joseph Druohlin Clos Vougeot Grand Cru - elegant, good balance, distinctive Pu Ehr tea nose
1990 Chapoutier hermitage Le Sizeranne - still hanging on a TOIG but starting to lose some density, great balance though still
1989 Chateau Grand Put Lacoste, Paulliac, wine is still very structured, losing most of its fruit.
1996 Cain Five, Amazing, Wine of the Night. Good density of fruit but balanced with amazing structure, great nose, out bordeauxs most bordeaux.
2001 Viader Red - Very nice, structure, solid fruit but lacking in some of the elegance of the Cain Five.
2003 Las Spinetta Sterder barolo - amazing given the vintage, solid without being cloying,

Yeah me too. We has this with a 2002 Haut Brion the other night and most of the people around the table preferred the Cain. It was rather impressive. Of course I found the Haut Brion to be fantastic and even though it was a poor vintage, it drank so well.
