Yup, they did it again. There was a proposed bill to allow direct shipment of up to two cases of wine (and wine only) per month to be shipped to an individual. Surprise, surprise, it was shot down under the pretense of "protecting the children". How noble our lawmakers are.(Sarcasm purely intentional)

I love that "protecting the children" argument. I love it because it is the perfect nonsense in a nonsensical situation. SADD, MADD and BADDDASSBULLSHIT is what it is!

I would like someone to explain to me why children are protected when wine is shipped within state borders but they are unprotected when is shipped from out-of-state.

They are trying to pass a law in my county to allow liquor sales on sunday. MADD shows a crippled woman who was hit by a drunk driver. When my wife and I saw this, we were wondering if people only get hit by drunk drivers on sunday? Yet, they can drive 12 miles to the next county and get their liquor then drive back, sloshed, to this county.

These groups here the word alcohol and a switch flips in their brain that requires all logic and sense to drain out their behinds. They assume that legislation is the only solution. I prefer education myself. But then again, I am an idiot.

We're getting some of the same stuff here in Massachusetts. There's some legislation up for consideration to allow interstate shipping. I got an email alert about public hearings from Free the Grapes, but I couldn't attend. However, my wife and I sent faxes to all 17 House and Senate members on the committee, and we convinced aabout thirty other people to do the same. I got a letter yesterday from one of the more influential senators and he said he was struck by the "passion and informed arguments" in our faxes. He said he feels now that there is merit in allowing interstate shipping of wine. Keep your fingers crossed, folks. If something positive happens here in MA, it can happen anywhere.

KC, ATTA-BOY !!! The only remedial course for these unconstitutional laws is another Boston Tea Party or something akin. We're doing the same thing here in Arizona. They tacked their cute little felong shipping measure on the back of a school appropriations bill. 'Aint that sweet. WW

Tea party! How about a Boston wine party or a wine party in every state at the same time. Kind of like a million man/woman tasting to bring awareness to a fluid level. ...
