1996 Gaja Barbaresco

I'ts been a few years since I've had one of these. I thought then that these needed drinking but in fact, they've held on quite well, slowly maturing further. Some bricking on the color, not a block buster, but nicely balanced if a bit austere. Nice rose, berries and tar on the nose. Good long persistence following with a nice soft finish. Will be good to see this over the next five to see if it has the legs to reach a nice old age.
