Tuna and beef?

I was wondering what a good wine to order if one of us will be gettint raw or barely seared tuna, and the other most likely beef? The restaurant carries predominantly Californian wines... thanks in advance.

Hi Rae, and welcome to the Wine Board. Look for a California Pinot Noir, preferably one from Monterey or Central Coast.

IK is correct. I would add, if you are spending some money, Mercurey or Chiroubles or Moulin A Vent.

Too bad its mostly Cali as a Pessac Leognan (Graves) would be perfect and oppulent. Pinot will do the trick, just differently, I would go for a more burgundian styled one such as a Drouhin or Ancien as opposed to a Foley or Hobbs Bomb. But that may just be my palate.
