COOLING UNITS

Has anyone had any experience with The Koolspace Slim line 600 cooling unit for<BR>cellars?<P>I have a small cellar Size of a closet, in which temps are not ideal, was thinking of installing one of these units, but wanted to knof if anyone had any experience with it.<P>thanks

Ricardo, I'm also in the market for a cooling unit, so I've done a bit of research lately. The Koolspace literature reads well, but the fine print says that it can't handle a temperature differential greater than 20 degrees F. So if your closet is normally at 75 degrees F, it should move the temp down to 55 degrees and hold it near there with no problem. But I've got to try to get a 95 degree daytime ambient temp down to 55 in the cellar (it's currently 75 degrees in there right now, 24 hours a day). So I'm looking at other units, such as Breezeair.<P>Gil (aka hotwine)

Breezaire is the ticket IMHO. Got three 700 bottle free-standing cellars and I replaced one unit with a Breezaire -- it does the job even on those 90 degree days. But then 90 degrees is a cool front down in Texas.....<P>Bucko

Bucko, you're right about 90 degrees being a cool front around here. We won't see 90 degrees at mid-afternoon again until late September.<P>BTW, to clarify my earlier comment about the Coolspace: the literature actually says that the unit much discharge (exhaust) into an airspace that is no more than 20 degrees warmer than the desired cellar temperature.<BR>That's why it wouldn't work for my problem - I need it to discharge into 95 degree open air.
