I just had a customer open a bottle from her cellar. It took forever to open up probably about 2 hr or 3 hrs. When it did it spilled forth the most amazing black raspberry and currant fruit and a briary quality. It was great I don't think I could truly take it all in because I was working after all. From nose to finish it was definitely FA. Good thing she gave another bottle to take home.

2002 was not a great vintage year for left bank reds, but Lynch-Bages was one of the stars of the vintage.

How long should I hold the other bottle. What was is the window. If you could give me a clue that would be awesome.

hahah.... (I just split tea over my laptop...sitting in Toronto Hilton's lounge looking over the city...very sophisicated room and people, until I nearly spit out the contents of my mouth, lurching over the computer, desparately trying to swallow before I laugh....... first time I got attention from women while I was sitting at the bar.....) Dave, other's will know better but this is now 6 years after the vintage so it should be starting to drink okay but no rush for the next few years, probably consume this over the next few years.

The CellarTracker "community" assessment for the '02 L-B is 2008-2018. I have only a few of the '99 and plan to leave 'em alone for a while yet.
