We have a group of fellow wine-lovers who meet for local tastings. We will have a summer potluck, and my partner and I will be taking things to make grilled pizzas. Not your typical pepperoni, either. Anyway, I want to serve a pink wine, just to be different - nothing sweetish, but maybe a cab blanc. I thought about the old standby Tavel, but.....anyway, can you help suggest something?

Perhaps a good bandol would fit the bill. Should be lots of good roses from Provence out this time of year.

Try a Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Cerasuolo, yummy very dark roses made in East Central Italy. You should be able to find Illuminati, Cataldi Madonna or others in many markets. There are also several excellent Sicilian examples of dry rosato from Regaleali, Donna Fugata and Planeta.
