This is a Rhone blend of about 6 different grapes, predominantely grenache noir, carignan, and syrah with 14.5% on the alcohol. At $5.49 a bottle here in PA I picked up a few cases of this stuff and have been using it for an everyday drinker and a starter wine. Tastes like a $15 to $20 bottle. If you happen to see it, give it a try!

Thanks Innkeeper... nice to be back again! You really need to show me how you do that bottle twirling thing on the end of a rope in order to separate those different "evil grapes" in blended wines

I've been reading some good notes on this wine, Parker, Rovani and the Spec all like it. I've been searching for it locally because they're now selling this (Languedoc-Roussillon) Rhone blend 'in cask' or as 'wine in a box'. $18 local price for a 3 liter box of the 2004, and that translates to about $4.50 a bottle. Decent nose, I like the taste, cries out for something garlicky. I'd buy it at $10 to $15 a bottle, but at this price it tastes like a heckuva bargain to me. Decant it and serve in the decanter if your reputation can't hold up to drinking a good wine cheap but straight from the box.
