- Thraz - 04-30-2006 A great wine. Black cherry, pepper and leather throughout, nice tannins, a finish that lasts forever particularly on the back palate (at least 30 seconds). Definitely not closed, but it felt like it could be even more expressive, maybe with a couple of more years. It breathed for an hour or two, but it seemed like it could take more. Perfect: tastes great now, seems like it can do even better in the future - I like having wines like this in the cellar. According to my notes at the time I paid $32 in 2004, but I don't remember where. 13%. I have four more bottles, I will be looking forward to them, but I will take my time. This wine seems like a very good case in point for somebody's comparison between the northern Rhone's "dark brooders" and Australia's "exotic dancers." - Thraz - 10-13-2007 Well, 18 months did it. If you have any of this, now is a great time to open it. Fabulous. [This message has been edited by Thraz (edited 10-13-2007).] |
