Rated 93 – The NV Brut Rosé Grand Cru is simply fabulous. Deep, resonant and creamy to the core, the estate’s Rosé captures the purest essence of Aÿ in its power and intensity. The wine continues to flesh out in the glass with a compelling melange of aromas, flavors and texture. Cherry pit, crushed flowers and mint are all laced into the super-expressive finish. This is another fabulous showing from Gatinois. The Rosé is 90% Pinot Noir and 10% Chardonnay, with the addition of some still red Pinot. This release is based on 2010, with the addition of 30% reserve wines. Disgorged April 2014. Dosage is 6 grams per liter. – Antonio Galloni.
