Received this in a wine exchange with some friends who have a villa in Tuscany. Honestly, we're not terribly familiar with Italian reds (Sangiovese in this case, right?) and were curious if anyone could provide tasting experiences. I've read that 1998 was a pretty good year in Tuscany and that decent Brunellos typically do well with perhaps 5-10 years of aging, or more.

Your thoughts would be appreciated!
Cheers,
Andrew

IMHO they REQUIRE fifteen years of aging. Enjoy it in 2013.

It is a Sangiovese clone also known as Sangiovese Grosso. (For some reason I get Nebbiolo and Brunello mixed in my mind so had to check my fact before posting).
