Been nursing the bum knee, being a very good girl and staying away from alcohol all week. But tonight the knee is hurting a lot and I thought, "Break down and take a pain pill before going to bed or have some Port? Pain pill? Port? Pain Pill? Port?" Well, The Hardy's was just delicious and now I don't really notice the knee pain so much...in fact, if I drink a little more I'll be literally feeling no pain as they say. "My mother always told me to be a good girl. Was I?" Ba da boom.

Wash the damned pain pill down with the Port already. Whisker's is one of the world's classic values IMHO. How did you stumble upon that?

"Good" is a relative term...As for the Hardy's, back in March several members of this board, namely, Auburnwine, zenda2, Drew, and even you, yourself, Buckie, extolled the taste and value of the Hardy's. I just love the stuff. Now, Bucko, I certainly have faith in your wine recommendations, but as far as your medical advice....

Well, I guess it's going to be in my next order from SHWC. They have it for $11.99. Is that a good price?

Bucko's Ba da boom joke reminds me of one that really tickled my fancy. The actress who played Rose on "Upstairs, Downstairs" (BBC, PBS) had a real rose named after her. In the rose catalog description it said "This rose does not perform well in beds; does much better against a wall." The actress, in an interview, said "That's just not true. I'd like it known that I perform well in beds also!"

We are back from a very nice, but dry party for our local historical society. So, now we are just hanging and sipping on our first Hardy's Whiskers Blake Tawny. Very, very, nice. Sorry we are so late to arrive at THIS party.

Killed another bottle over this birthday weekend (two granddaughters). Nice, and nutty, and smooth. The wine was good too.

Have gone through a couple more of these recently. The Wolfeboro NH Liq Store gets them in in oneseys and twoseys. The most recent had a new label on it, and it is still non vintage. It cost $11.99, but they must have been having a sale that day, because I got it and a $9.99 bottle of Laurel Glen Reds for a total of $19.99 according to the store's puter.

It is still a very nice sipper, particularly after coming in from a long alcoholess evening out. It still hits you with the nutty flavor accompanied but abundant fruit, lovely complexity in the middle, and a loooooooong finish.

Try it, you'll like it! Great for the holidays.

This wine is still drinking very well thankee. It still runs $11.99 at local P-Store. We basted our Christmas goose with it and then sipped it over the next few days.

There is something about winter weather that makes me just want to relax by a fire with a good book and a glass of Whiskers Blake.
