the 2004 Quady California Black Muscat was very dark red/purple with a very unique nose. The alcohol (15% could be smelled at the top of the glass even though the wine was chilled, the nose though was of pure Lychee. Nicely done but not completely balanced. Long finish.

The 2004 Quady Orange Muscat was golden orange in color and had a nose of Orange marmalade. Very interesting. While still 15%, it was better integrated than it sibbling. Sweet, marmalade, a bit of charamel and a long but crisp finish with good acidity.

$14.99 each for both.

I have had the Orange Muscat and also the Orange Blossom Muscat (I think I prefered the former). Will try the Black Muscat sometime.
