- andrawes76 - 07-14-2009 Not vintage specific... Rosenblum Contra Costa Zinfandel Frog's Leap Zinfandel Hartford Court Zinfandel The Carneros/Lodi zin belt produces some outstanding wines. Lodi produces great value. Am I missing any obvious ones? - Drew - 07-15-2009 I don't know if this winery is an obvious omission but I'm very fond of Jessie's Grove. Drew - winoweenie - 07-15-2009 My personal favorites for this varietal from Cali are mostly centered in the Sonoma area.....Scherrer, Swan, etc. WW - Thomas - 07-15-2009 Look up Del Carlo, Dry Creek, Sonoma. A true up and coming Zinfandel producer. WW, you'd like their Cabernet Sauv. too. Those two are all they produce. Right on the Dry Creek Road, not far from Teldeschi--in fact, Del Carlo's wife is a Teldeschi cousin. Del Carlo family has grown grapes for generations, but they are just releasing their own wines. Old vine Zinfandels--heaven. I agree with you: Sonoma for Zinfandels. [This message has been edited by foodie (edited 07-15-2009).] - wondersofwine - 07-15-2009 Love old vine zins. |
