Eileen wanted more so I opened this zin. Darker purple/garnet color. Rich nose of the zinberry and a little more oak/vanilla and alcohol. Bitter chocolate and rich zin notes, spice, tannic mid-palate and a long finish make this a thumbs up wine. A richer almost, but not quite, over the top zin. Well "put together" wine. 14.5 %Alc./vol. $15?

I agree. One of the best 99 zins around $15 and under. It was even better the next day!
Dry Creek has produced some excellent zins in 99. Have you had the Old Vine from Dry Creek? both were given 90 by Mr. Parker.

Dave Stare has produced some stellar zins since the outstanding 78 vintage. His cabs and Sav Blancs' don't be too shabby neither.WW
