Amador County.
I thought I'd posted on a D'Arie Zin but can't find the post. If there's a better "go to", moderately priced zin than D'Arie I'd like to find it. The 2006 was very concentrated but balanced with elegance. Beautiful, pure spicy dark berry with earthy, mocha notes. The finishing flavors are almost desert like. Sweet, liquor like zin berry flavors that lingured seemingly for over a minute. Just a squeek of tannins noted yet the wine maintains a firm yet supple seemless body. This particular bottle was at peak, that Eileen and I enjoyed after arriving home from Thanksgiving with Mom, sister and brother in law, niece and nephew.
14.3%Alc/vol. $18

BTW, I prepared the turkey this year using the high heat roasting method, 14lb brined bird roasted 1 hour 40 minutes to moist perfection with crispy skin. All raved about it.

We went to the D'Arie tasting room on our honeymoon. I enjoyed most of their wines.
C.G. is one interesting individual.

Here's a link if anyone is interested...
