A quick story; I was lost (stupidly) in Maryland near Glenn Burnie and stopped in at a Gas station/liquor store for directions. I never do that so I felt quite stupid here. As he was telling me the all to simplistic directions, I glanced at the wines and found most of it was Yellowtail etc. But out of the corner of my eye, I saw a bottle of Rosenblum. I don't know much about Zin but enough to know Rosenblum makes OK Zins. The bottle(in the title) was sitting in the corner. I picked it up and asked the owner why it was there. He told me a lady several years past had requested it and all of the sudden stopped coming in. I took it and am drinking it now.

The dried currant and red cheery palate are amazing. This smooths out to espresso and dirt (in a good way) and lasts for a good while. I'm more impressed because of the scores this recieved. I was expecting something OK but got something where I said "Wow"! I've never had an "Aged" Zin before this. I know this really isn't "aged", but the characteristics are still there. Love it; If you can find one, Do it!

What was the vintage year and any left at the gas station? Bet you won't refer to Rosenblum wines as "OK" now!

Men just don't get it. It's not stupid to ask for directions when you are lost. It's stupid to NOT ask for directions! (Spoken by someone who ended up in Bethesda after leaving the Kennedy Center in DC and trying to get back to Prince George's County).

This situation proves that life works in mysterious ways--you were lost but are now Rosenblum found...and probably a Zin drinker for the nonce.

Incidentally, Zinfandel is generally known for rather fast aging.

And WOW, unless you have been a man, you will never understand that sense of doom when having to ASK for directions--we are supposed to know EVERYTHING...

My answer when my wife says, "turn around and go back to the gas station to ask for directions."

"It's always better to keep going forward..."

With finds like this still out there, I am reconsidering the navigation option I am ordering on my new car...

Oh sorry, The year was '97 and the cost $24.

A killer vintage. The price was the same as release in 99. As you can see Rosenblum is a favorite with lors of the boards members. WW
