I've enjoyed several past vintages of this zin enjoying its consistency and what I thought as food friendly for bbq and summer grilling. Everyone seemed to like it...a go to zin. I picked up a bottle of this last night after a harrowing day of criminal investigation and a torturous drive home (usually a 30 minute drive turned into 2 hours). I hope this isn't the direction that the winery is going with this zin blend.
Deeply colored, opaque purple/black. Very ripe and deeply flavored blackberry, blue fruits, touch of spice and tar but NOT FOOD FRIENDLY! This vintage is a cocktail wine and might go with a cheese course but it's not like the last bunch of vintages. 15% Alc/vol. $16

Well, with your leather, prickly pear tongue you might think it's akin to a premier cru...

I RESEMBLE that remark...Please refer to it as "Leather" rather than cactus. WW
