1999 Renwood, Zinfandel, D’Agostini Bros., Shenandoah Valley, California, $35. This classy ruby red wine is packed with raspberry, blackberry, vanilla and black pepper aromas and flavors. The finish is long and lush. 90/88.

1999 Renwood, Zinfandel, Fiddletown, California, $25. A full, rich nose of strawberry, blueberry, raspberry and vanilla scents leads to intensely fruity mixed berry jam and sweet oak flavors. Great acidity. 89/89.

1999 Renwood, Zinfandel, Grandmère, Amador County, California, $23. Intense berry fruit shines on the nose and palate. A dash of black pepper and vanilla adds interest to this full-bodied wine. The aftertaste is long and refined, the tannins full but rounded. 91/91.

1999 Renwood, Zinfandel, Grandpère, Amador County, California, $35. Richly colored, the aromas of chocolate covered cherries and raspberries are unmistakable. Full-bodied, with healthy tannins that do not dry out the mouth. Intensely fruity, with spicy black pepper and well-integrated oak that lingers on the finish. 92/90.

1999 Renwood, Zinfandel, Jack Rabbit Flat, Amador County, California, $35. Blackberries, plums, cedar and vanilla notes tempt the nose. Deep, lush fruit captivates the palate, with sweet oak undertones. Full-bodied but easy on the palate, the tannins are real but rounded. 91/89.

1999 Renwood, Zinfandel, Old Vine, Amador County, California, $17. You’ll find nice acidity and balance in this garnet colored new release. Jammy strawberry aromas and flavors are enhanced by black pepper and vanilla notes, finishing with smooth tannins. 88/89.

Opened a mag olf the 94 Old Vines at the party last monday. Was super-nice. A fine producer. Dint' know they bottled alla'them difernt vineyards. Shades of Rosenblum. WW

They must have been talking to Kent. Man, he makes a mess of labels, but some dandy wines to boot! Not bad for some old Doc.
