Fred makes this wine only in exceptioal years. He takes the best barrels from both the Shale and Old & Mature vineyards, uses lots of whole cluster fermentation, then bottles without fining or filtering. The result is a wine that is the essence of the Zin grape. So much fruit you get the feeling the RS is in the 8-10% range. Long finish and " fer gosh sakes don' let one drop fall on your shirt or it's history ". Had it last night with my "block-famous" Lasagne. Heady stuff. Have never seen it up in these parts but would love to find 1 or 2 as my mother's maiden name is Scherrer.

Drew think 90% of his production is sold via mailing list. Last I heard Fred was still accepting mailing list names. His phone # is 707-823-8980. WW
