From one of Gallos' great plots in Sonoma. This is a large step above the old vines. Deep ruby, loads of effusive fruits, spicy notes and cocoa come thru. Still a baby with supple tannins that will carry this wine another 2-4. A REAL MOUTH-KICKER. A potential 90. 88/89. WW

WW, do you know what you paid for the Stefani? Was it a wine shop purchase or on a trip to California?

My note a few months back:
1999 Rancho Zabaco, Zinfandel, Stefani Vineyard, Dry Creek Valley, California, $25, 3,917 cases. Big jammy fruit besieges the senses, followed by layers of French and American oak, medium-weight tannins, balanced acidity and a black jam finish. 87/87.

Hey there WOWSie, the reason for the differential twixt' Buck-snorts and the Weeners' numbers could be that I paid 21.99 for this potable in case lots. Thot it would develop into a major drink with another 2-4. If it was at the 25 level I'da put it into a lower humple-dumple.
