We had this just after a 2000 CdP that, by comparison, didn't hold up well. This thing is still a powerful blockbuster. Decanted (watch out for a good bit of sediment) through evening. Deep purple in color, with blackberry, blueberry, and black plum on the nose, with a touch of vanilla. The rather considerable dark fruits are held together by still imposing tannins that are turning to velvet, but could still use more time. Long, lip smacking (and tooth coloring) finish. Yummy stuff. According to my TNs, this is my first Aussie Shiraz in over a year. Don't know why I've moved away from them. Anyway, 14% alc., and it runs about $20.

FWIW, WS 89 (said drink to '06, though I'd extend that window a few years), RP 87, and W&S 91.

Good, reliable, consistent, and affordable producer.
