I had a glass of this wine with Cobb salad at the outdoor restaurant at Catamaran Resort Hotel in San Diego. I didn't take notes or even ask the vintage but I liked it well enough to be on the lookout for it again.

Christmas night with beef and pulled pork barbeque we opened a Root: 1 Carmenere from Chile that my nephew and his girlfriend bought for me. It was robust and a good pairing for the meat. (From original, ungrafted rootstock.) I think Argentina also has a lot of original rootstock vineyards, not having had the phylloxera problems of Europe.)
