Hello everyone! I am looking for some help regarding the name of an Italian wine and any information such as the correct spelling would be greatly appreciated! My grandfather grew up and lived in Italy most of his life and he often speaks of a wine "pronounced"-----"sow-cheezy"??? any clue what this is or how i can find it? all i know is that it is a red wine from Italy. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you. Jennifer

Hi Jennifer, and welcome to the Wine Board. Did your grandfather come from the area around Rome called Latium? If so, it might have been a wine called Cesanese, and pronounced "chae sah NAE sae." If not, maybe someone else can help you.

We only have one group that answers questions here and we are glad you asked. Since you made multiple posts, the others are not necessary. We will leave this one here, as it is the best place for you to get the answer, and will delete the others so people will not think you are trying to spam our board. Hope you understand.

Thank you so much for your response. Yes, I know he lived very close to Rome. One more question for you, do you know where I can find this wine and is it still made? THank you!!

Don't know where you live, but if you go to www.wine-searcher.com and type in Cesanese and NV for vintage, you will get four different responses from VA, NY, IN, and MA. Prices range from $9-$16. The most expensive one is from MA and it is a blend with Sangiovese the primary Chianti grape. Sounds good to me.

I want to Sincerely thank you for taking the time to helping me find this wine. THis in fact is it! My grandfather will be very excited to see this. I live in Mississippi, but found out that the place in MA will ship to me. Again, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! The WineBoard has been very helpful and I will recommend this to everyone!! Jennifer
