1997 Sebastiani, Barbera, Dry Creek Valley, $25. A bright berry, leather and spice bouquet. Intensely fruity on the palate, the tannins are soft, the acidity is lively. This is a nice match for a plate of spaghetti and meatballs. Good value.

I guess remembering when Sebastiani Barbera cost $3 is like remembering when tuition at Carnegie Tech was $400 a semester.

I think the wheel came a few years after that....

Wanna arm wrestle?

- winecollector - 11-17-2000

I'd love to! But I'd much rather come up there for that bottle twirling thing on the end of a piece of closeline at the end of the year! When is that celebration again?

You have no idea how many times I had to backspace because my spelling looked like winoweenies tonight. Just came from a Burgundy tasting where they opened about 16 different wines. Way too much for me! Fortunately, I got there late, and only tasted half to 3/4 of them, or I would not have been able to drive home with good judgement. Where is my driver when I need him? Playing cards!

No one can look like WW -- he has taken it to an art form.

I`M OFFENDED, INSULTED, DERANGED, CONSTRICTED, REBUFFED, CHARACTERIZED, POLARIZED, WINTERIZED, AND BAPTIZED BY THESE UNCOMMONLY CRUEL APT DESCRIPTIONS.WW

Would you like us to do a recount?

- Thomas - 11-18-2000

WW, WINTERIZED you are!

Bucko, $25 for a bottle of wine to match spaghetti and meatballs?

I happen to be one of those Italian-Americans who as a child had to eat spaghetti a minimum of twice weekly (sometimes three); won't touch the stringy stuff today; too plebiean for my delicate adult palate; certainly worth less than a $25 wine!

- Bucko - 11-18-2000

I don't price them, I just taste them. This seemed to be a wine to match lasagna or spaghetti.
