1999 Marchesi Di Barolo, Ruvei, Barbera d'Alba ($13 local). Beautiful deep purple color. Plums, berries, and minerals on the nose and up front. A big wine (13.5% alcolol) with mild tannin, a ton of acid, and earthy comlexity across the palate. Lovely finish. Matched perfectly with meatballs and penne in a rich tomato sauce. Highly recommended.
