what anyone tell me about the wine Italian Lambrusco?

It is a DELICIOUS sparkling RED wine made in Emilia-Romagna from a grape of the same name. Almost anything you can buy will be better than Riunite, a bastardized industrial version that was once the largest selling import wine in the US. Look for Lambrusco di Sorbara if you want it dry or Lambrusco di Grasparossa if you like it fruitier. Serve it quite cold with salty snacks and fruit and cheese. May be the perfect wine for pork rinds....don't laugh, Sr. Malletti (a very good producer) served us a snack made since Roman times with his at VinItaly and shared the recipe:

Take five pigskins with the fat still on them, salt and pepper liberaly. Layer with herbs and pine nuts and berries in between the skins. Press in the wine press until compacted. Dry in the open air and sun on the roof of the winery for two months. Break off bite size chunks with a suitably big knife or battle ax. The net result is a crunchy, tasty, nutrition and calorie filled treat once carried by soldiers as battle rations.

I am packing my bags and will check in here on Sunday from LA and then on Tuesday from Rio de Janeiro (where Lambrusco is very popular), Roberto

Roberto, what do I do if I can't find Lambrusco-------- what even you said, at my store? Is there a place on the net to order this wine? homemakeraide

Lambrusco is so inexpensive, you'll spend almost as much on shipping as for the wine. Ask whoever buys the wine at your local shop to get whichever distributor carries Lambrusco to put some in the shop.
