2003 Donna Cristina, Pinot Grigio, Lazio ($9.99 Local Supermarket). Alcohol level 12.5%. Just about as good as a journeyman PG as you could find. Could be nasty and say it is just as good as the expensive one that put this wine on the popular map. Not as nice as most of those at the next price point and higher.

Gives ample fruit and acid all the way through, and went very well with sauteed chicken breasts in pesto (our first real basil pesto of the season), and salad.

The resturant I work at carried a few Donna Cristina wines recently, and I have to say, other than their Pinot Grigio, their wines SUCK. Their Merlot was a flabby fruit bomb(this wine was so bad, and oddly sweet, that whenever anyone ordered it I talked them out of it. Everything on our wine list was better. I think the only reason out manager ordered it was to keep up possitive relations with a cute wine merchant).

Better bottling of PG exist at this price point (Tramin comes to mind as an exceptional bottling at $10. Zenato also makes a great, light PG at $9 a btl).
