I've been disappointed more often than not with Chianti but this bottle was a very nice surprise. Sampled at a wine tasting yesterday this wine showed nice sweet cherry and berry notes with spice and mineral. Very round in the mouth with good acidity. The roundness almost makes me think something else is blended in. Retails about $24

Drew, for the pinnacle of Chianti (IMHO), look for the Marchese Antinori Chianti Classico Riserva.... at about the same price. Dunno what the current release is, I'm still working on '04s and '05s. Wonderful juice! The Antinori family was admitted to the Chianti Classico guild in 1385, so the Marchese kind of knows what to do with Sangiovese grapes.
