A very light pinot noir with simple flavors of berry, dark cherry and spice. I was looking for a little more "punch" but not with this wine. Putting the "Willamette Valley" designation on the bottle insults that Valley. That said, this might be a nice wine for the, I like a light red crowd. Fruit forward and easy drinking. I think if you could snag a few at the $10 range would be a nice party red. Too much at $15 that I paid. 13.5% Alc/vol.

Try the Cono Sur.

Its definitely not what you'd expect from a WV Pinot Noir. Its what you'd expect from a Virtual Winery, but not from August Briggs (wine maker). Still pretty affordable.

i'm with you on this one, drew. i love PNs from willamette, and this one definitely is varietally correct: strawberries, cherries, violets and a touch of vanilla spice. the problem is, it's all incredibly toned down -- nearly no nose to speak of and minimal flavors. it might be a good wine to win over folks who like white but typically find reds too big, but i look for something more substantial, even when looking for an elegant pinot.
