Had this wine with Amberjack, that's a fish Hotwine...I know all you see is cows.
Dark garnet/tawny color, shut down nose of alcohol, earth and black cherry. Flavors of Black cherry, ripe strawberry...very earthy and rustic. Long mid palate but medium length hot finish with some sherry flavors. 14.5% Alc/vol. Not my style. Purchased in Florida @$20

From your description of the wine, it needed to accompany a very rich entree, something like duck or goose maybe?
We sometimes have amberjack at our favorite Italian restaurant in San Antonio, Ristorante Grissini. They serve it grilled and lightly covered with olive oil, roasted garlic and tomatos. With that, we always have Tommasi Pinot Grigio.

We don't have any cows named Amber. Don't have any bulls named Jack, either, but I guess you might be able to get one of 'em to stand still long enough to paint a few fishscales on him - at least, until he got his nose full of heifer.

I wasn't familiar with Iron Horse Pinot and the choice was a shot in the dark.
