1995 Domaine Jacques Prieur Volnay 1er cru Clos Des Santenots
Nice deep red with a hint of brickish brown/red at the edges.
Wonderful nose of dried cherries, tobacco, and chocolate.
Same on the palate with strong balancing acidity and some solid, spicy tannins on the finish.
Served with grilled salmon with lemon, olive oil and garlic. Tuscan sauted greens and a loaf of rustic bread.
Absolutely wonderful match with a wonderful wine. Best part, I found it in a bargain bin 7 years ago when I lived in Boise. Only paid 25 bones for it.
