1998 Paraiso Springs, Pinot Noir, Santa Lucia Highlands, Monterey County, $22.50, 2,300 cases. Lovely plum, blueberry and light vanilla aromas highlight this well-balanced wine. Lush black cherry and blueberry flavors are up-front, with light smoky vanilla notes in the background. Good value.
