Along with the Roads End, the other PN from last evening's dinner. The '05 is the last time Patty Green will make this wine, which comes from a 12-acre vineyard north of Rex Hill in the Chehalem Mountains. Typically, this wine is very big, tending to blue fruit/plum flavors and aromas. Perhaps given the few years of aging, the '02 had calmed down and offered aromas of crushed raspberries and pine needles, with gorgeous, silky textures that carry the raspberry and red cherry flavors toward a complex finish that includes red spices and a hint of subtle vanilla, likely from the use of some new oak. It frames up the wine nicely, and is not liberal. Great wine.

Anne liked it better than the Roads End, while I gave a slight nod in the other direction. Two awesome wines, though, making for a stellar PN evening. Didn't note the alc., but it'll run about $29 retail.
