- Drew - 07-29-2008 Paired with my homemade Paella, OC style. Shrimp, scallops, tillapia, spanish sausage, grill roasted corn, yellow squash and a ton of garlic, white wine, chicken stock, half and half, butter and a large wedge of Washington State Cremery Viking Crimson Fire cheese with Penzeys smoked spanish paprika and other spices. Served in large bowls with warm rosemary Focaccia. A wonderful meal but a ho-hum wine. Very ordinary but varietaly correct. Simple red berry, cola and spice. Slightly hot on the finish. If tasted blind would have guessed a sub $15 pinot. Not worth the $23 I paid here. 14.1% Alc/vol.
