Another Sonoma wine as we start getting in the mood for our upcoming trip out there. Anne picked this one up at Vintage Wines in San Diego. Thanks to WW for the shop rec and to John at Vintage for the wine rec.

Anyway, the color borders on purple. Decanted 30 minutes before 1st pour and through evening. Juicy cherry, dark berry, and plummy aromas and flavors, a hint of barnyard, some red spiciness on the finish, and just a whiff of vanilla. Gains a sweet cherry candy note after awhile. Lively in the mouth with good acidity. Kind of a raw, wild element to it, so it's not polished and refined like the Rochioli yesterday, but I like it more because it has so much unique personality. Good stuff. Anne downed her share in a hurry and gave it a thumbs-up. 14.3% alc. It ran $36.

John and his staff are one of the few wine shops I take reccomendations from seriously. How be that for a dangling participipalotia? WW
