Santa Lucia Highlands.

Deep color turning to purple, with a wonderful nose of crushed, juicy berries, both red and black. Decent mouthfeel, but lacked a bit of the acidity I look for, especially at the back. Cherry flavors turn over to overripe black plum on the finish, which was off-putting to me. No real earthy component. Anne just said, "It's alright." Not a real ringing endorsement, so I won't rush back out for it. Alc. 13.7%. Paid $25 locally. Both WS and WE said 87, FWIW.
