The funkiest wine I've ever had of Brians'. On opening this bottling had barn-yard out the kazoo, like meeny burgandies. After about 20 mins it blew off and settled into the normal earthiness. Along with this there's some black fruits, a spice that reminds me of bitter almond extract and cinnamon combined plus a touch of toast. IMHO this hummer needs another 2-3 to really rise and shine. 90/90 45. 14.9% alc. WW

Pulled this by mistake and opened before realizing my blunder. Seems to have shed quite a bit of the barney and the nose was far more pleasant on opening than the previous bottle. The more I'm exposed to this Santa Lucia Highlands vineyard the more I like it. The black fruits, plum and strawbwerries, are forward in both the nose and expansive mouthfeel. No change in scoring. Tried another for lunch today and all the funk has gone south. Not sure yet but I think this bottling is fast becoming one of my top 2 favs from the mity Brian. Almost sweet on the nose and this sweetness also hit the palate. Mouthfeel like like liquid silk and a solid center and a 4+ lapper finish. OTTOIG. Will be drinking the rest of these lovlies shortly. Ole' Mr. Funk done showed up again but was not offensive. Down to me last bottle of this and not asure whether I'm sad or glad. The most(?) controversial IMHO of any of the bottlings I've had frum the Mity Brian. Still intend to drink these suckers up shortly. No change in scoring. WW
