I've never tried Duck Pond wines and if this is an example of their product, never again.

Dark cranberry in color, barnyard nose that never blew off mixed with tart cherry notes. Flavors of tart cherry, tobacco and a bitter componet that I can't ID with a little spritz on the tip of the tongue...down the drain, awful stuff. 12.7 % Alc/vol.

Never had a '99, just earlier ones. The spritzy part and previous experiance makes methink you got a bad bottle.

I have this product in my shop. Some bottles are fine; some are as described above. Have no idea how or why that happened. I have always enjoyed Duck Pond Pinot Noir--win some, lose some.

Duck Pond makes me run the other way, run and scream if it's the merlot, this is of course just MHO.
